Damon Washington, Lead Pastor

 

 Pastor Damon Washington was born and raised in the beautiful Monterey Bay Peninsula. He holds an Associate of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Monterey Peninsula College. Additionally, he holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management Information Systems from California State University, Sacramento. Pastor Damon also holds a Master of Divinity Degree from the Seventh-day Adventist Seminary at Andrews University, in Berrien Springs, Michigan where he graduated in May 2018. 

Since January 2022, Pastor Damon has served as the lead pastor for the District comprised of the Pittsburg SDA Church, in Pittsburg, California, and the Immanuel Temple SDA Church in Oakland, California in the Northern California Conference (NCC) of Seventh-day Adventists. Pastor Damon was ordained as a Seventh-day Adventist Minister of the Gospel in October 2022.

Prior to joining the NCC, Pastor Washington served as the Director of the Nevada-Utah Conference of Seventh-day Adventists Lay Pastors Ministry Department and Associate Pastor for the District comprised of the Riverview SDA Church, in Reno, Nevada, and the Truckee SDA Church, in Truckee, California from July 2018 through December 2021. 

Pastor Damon previously served as a ministerial intern for the Berean SDA Church, in South Bend, Indiana, for three years. Prior to that, he was an active ordained Elder at the Sacramento, Capitol City SDA Church, in California. While at Capitol City, Damon served as the lay pastor for the Fijian Church Group at Capitol City.  

Pastor Washington has a passion for winning souls for the Kingdom. Pastor Damon has previously served as a Personal Ministries leader and was responsible for many successful outreach campaigns. While in Seminary, Pastor Washington served as the team lead for a March 2018 evangelistic and mission trip to Cuba. While there, he preached many sermons; and when the meetings ended, over 500 souls were baptized! Pastor Damon has preached throughout North America and internationally, including, Fiji.

Pastor Damon is happily married to Jeanice Warden-Washington, a chief consultant at the California State Capitol, an ordained Elder, and member of the Pacific Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists Church State Council Speaker’s Bureau.

Yehoyada Mbangukira, Head Elder

 
 

Elder Yehoyada Mbangukira has been a member of the Mighty Pittsburg SDA Church (PSDAC) since 1999, and has been the presiding Head Elder of PSDAC for over 10 years; and has served under three pastors. Elder Yehoyada (as many fondly call him), finds it a blessing and a joy to serve the vibrant PSDAC and surrounding community.

Elder Yehoyada serves as a Key Account Manager in the Pharmaceutical Industry specializing in Infectious Diseases. He holds a Master’s degree in Organizational Development and Management from the University of San Francisco. Additionally, Elder Yehoyada serves as President of the United States Rwandan Community Abroad and he serves other non-profit organizations as Co-President of the Alliance for the Study of the Holocaust and Genocide at Sonoma State University and Board Member of TIP Global Health.

Elder Yehoyada is married to Assumpta Kamanzi and they have three young adult children, Ndahiro, Ineza and Iriza. The entire family is actively engaged in ministry at PSDAC and the community.

 

Barbara Jones, Church Clerk

 
 

Born, raised and employed in the Pittsburg area, Barbara Jones’ heart is well rooted in the local community. Barbara has been a part of the PSDAC for over 44 years and finds great joy in service. Her passion and love for music and team participation has enabled to her be an active member of various choirs, praise teams and small groups at PSDAC.

Barbara retired from the Pittsburg Unified School District as the Executive Assistant to the Superintendent and School Board in 2018. Upon her “retirement” she became the administrative assistant at PSDAC and enjoys supporting PSDAC and the surrounding community.

Barbara enjoys cooking, event planning and hosting special occasions.

Barbara is married to Daniel Jones, Sr., is the mother of two sons, and dotting grandmother to eight grandchildren.

Earlene Hubbard,
Treasurer

 
 

Earlene Hubbard has a passion for service. She has faithfully worked in the PSDAC Treasury Department for over eight years.

She became a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in 1976, and sees it as a tremendous blessing to herself, her family and many friends.

Earlene has been married to her husband Ronnell, an active deacon at PSDAC for 46 years; and they have three adult sons.
